Archiving policy

Adhering to open access standards for the popularization of scientific knowledge in the field of humanities among the general public, the scientific journal “Folk Art and Ethnology” ensures the distribution of paper issues by sending mandatory copies to the largest libraries of Ukraine, and also provides free access on the Internet to electronic versions of all issues and all articles of the periodical.

Electronic archives of issues of the journal “Folk Art and Ethnology” with free and open access to all publications in pdf-format are posted:

  • in the corresponding section “Archive” on the publication’s website;
  • on a separate web page “Folk Art and Ethnology” of the library portal of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine “LibNAS UA”;
  • on a separate web page “Folk Art and Ethnology” of the portal “Scientific Periodicals of Ukraine” of the V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine.

Ensuring long-term storage

Technical means

The immutability of the source data and the correct display of the content are ensured by placing each scientific article on the journal website and on the web pages of library portals in PDF (Portable Document Format).

Each scientific article of the journal is assigned a digital identifier DOI (Digital Object Identifier), which guarantees a constant and stable reference to the article, independent of changes in the structure of the publication's website.

All necessary metadata of the articles are stored in a structured format both in the PDF version and on a separate web page of each publication. Bibliographic descriptions, annotations and article lists of sources and literature are registered in the CrossRef database, which ensures their search and indexing in international scientometric databases.

Availability guarantees

The publication guarantees unlimited open access to all issues and published articles on the journal's website, as well as their transfer for additional archiving and storage to the above-mentioned national library portals.

Authors are allowed to place electronic copies of their published articles on personal web resources, institutional or thematic repositories, provided that the original publication on the journal's website is cited.

The structure of the journal's website provides for the display on the right side of the main page of the current issue, issues for the last three years, and the publication's archive, into which one issue is moved each year, which comes out of the time range of the last three years.

The policy of archiving and ensuring long-term storage of the journal's scientific content will be periodically reviewed and improved in order to take into account new effective practices of scientific and publishing activities and ways to ensure the preservation of content. Such updates will be published on this web page of the publication's website.
